Ready For Bed!

How was your day?

Work for me was okay today. Busy at first and then slowed down so that I could play catch up on a few other tasks. I was ready for lunch at 2:00.

Lunch was a repeat from yesterday.
Recycled pic, but I still couldn't find my camera.

After work, I was hungry, but Love was working late and I had some cleaning to do. So, I had a slice of bread with some PB and Jelly. Just a side note, peanut butter has always been my favorite. I read a blogger once who said she only allowed herself peanut/almond butter at 1 meal in the day. I have incorporated that into my life, as well. I could eat it nonstop and I have eaten a full jar before.

I cleaned up around the house and then went to the store.

Once Love got home, we were both ready for dinner. Tonights dinner consisted of a tostada and a side salad.
The tostada had a scoop of beans, hamburger, a little cheese and some peach&mango salsa. My side salad was the usual. Spinach, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and poppy seed dressing!

I needed a sweet and because I am doing no sweets for a week, I decided fruit was a great choice.
A small handful of grapes and one plum which was SUPER ripe....I love ripe ripe plums!!

Today was a good day. I feel so great and motivated. About to hit 100oz. of water. Another gym workout tomorrow morning. Gonna do an hour of cardio and some weights.

How do you pull yourself out when you are stuck in a diet rut?

To Snack or Not To Snack....

Last Friday, I brought my typical morning and afternoon snack along with me. I eat a yogurt w/ a Clif bar in between my smoothie breakfast and my sandwich/salad or soup/salad lunch. In the afternoon, I typically have an apple or some grapes because I find myself hungry(not extremely, but slightly). However, I didn't end up eating either snack.

I had my typical breakfast(smoothie: handful of spinach, banana, protein powder, skim milk, 1-1 1/2 cups of berries) and I was not hungry until 12:30. I eat lunch at 1:30 and knew that if I ate even my yogurt, I would still be satisfied by the time lunch came around. So, I skipped it and just let my tummy grumble a little. The same thing happened that afternoon! So, I basically had 3 meals that day and was fine!

I have tried to incorporate snacking between meals in a small and subtle way, but now I am rethinking it. Maybe I will just do 3 meals a day, but I would like to hear your opinion!

What is your meal/snacking plan? Are you a 3 meals a day? A 6 meals a day? Do you eat when you feel hungry? What are your favorite snacks?

Back from the cabin....

So, from Friday to today, I have not actually had a meal. I had planned on foods to bring to the cabin. I was going to make delicious veggie omelettes(for me, C(My Boy) does not like veggies or omelettes), Grilling up some veggies for lunches and dinners to go with the hamburgers and brisket. Yeah, none of that actually happened!

Friday night, we got up to the cabin, turned on the water and gas, and headed back to town for some groceries. The boy was in a hurry, the reason..i'll never know! So, we got some fruit, some juice, some eggs, some cocoa puffs, and uh....candy! After the grocery store, we stopped at taco time. I got a veggie burrito...not a horrible choice, but not great. I listened to my body and it said it was fine at about half the burrito, so I put it away! Good Job, Continuous :)! We got to the cabin and a couple of friends showed up. We ended up playing a drinking game called "Ride the Bus". I drank almost half a bottle of Sangria by myself! And, I snacked!

Saturday, we woke up, snacked played with the dogs, I ran up and down the HUGE hill in front of the cabin a couple of times, and rested. The whole day, I snacked...THE WHOLE DAY! I did NOT however do it in an uncontrollable way! I contained my composure and snacked on plenty of fruit!

Today, it's the boy's b-day! Cake and ice cream was involved. Birthday Pancakes were involved. No exercise was involved and I'm OKAY WITH THAT! I've worked my arse off to lose weight and i've been training hard! I was concious and aware of what I ate and DIDN'T eat this weekend!

I don't beat myself up over the decisions I make! I made them, I can't change them! All I can do is move forward and make tomorrow better! For the first time in my life, I'm actually staying focused and EXCITED about losing weight the right way!

Back to regularly scheduled meals and working out tomorrow! I'm starting the "30 Day Shred Challenge" on October 1st.
