July 6: Good Things!

Good Morning Everyone!

I woke up bright and early at 5:00AM. Then laid in bed with Love until 5:45.

Once I got my cute buns outta bed, it was off to weigh on the wii! I weighed in at 124.8! That is a 2.6 lb loss this week. I must have been retaining some water last week or something. I feel good though!

I went to the gym shortly after. Did 2.15 miles in 21 minutes. Honestly, this morning was HARD. I couldn't breathe and I felt tired, but I didn't stop at all. I just told myself I could push through. I am very proud of myself :)

Breakfast is Chobani Blueberry Greek Yogurt, Fiber One Cereal, blueberry and a little scoop of protein powder. No picture though, sorry. I can't find my camera. It may be in my car...hmm.

Tonight, I need to do some grocery shopping!

Have a great day!

July 5: Good Morning!

Well, first meal of food blogging today!
I had 1 whole egg, 2 egg white omelet with spinach, a sprinkle of cheese and peach&mango salsa on top(not pictured). I also had 1 piece of sausage, and a coffee with soy milk and a touch of agave nectar! It was perfect. It was a great meal to get me going on a full day of cleaning. Wish me luck in finding my actual camera because my phone pics aren't as awesome!

How was your 4th?

Protein!

When we were at Lowe's I spotted the Hungry Girl 200 under 200 cookbook and grabbed up the last copy :) I am so excited to get cookin'!

After Lowe's and a quick stop to get Love a new phone, we went to the local market last night(which is the closest thing I have to a Whole Foods(until next January!!!!)) here in my spot in the US! I picked up some Jay Robb Protein powder packets to try, a suggestion from a "Flat Belly" book of some sort, as I ran out of protein this weekend. The Verdict? Loved it. I added the pouch to my greek yogurt(which next time will be added to something different as the serving size is HUGE!) and it was tasty. My only problem with greek yogurt is the consistency, it's not creamy but rather more chunky and I do not like that. The protein made it so good though for some reason! The kicker was that my breakfast had 38 grams of protein and I read that the average person should have 45g of protein a day. I am excited to go pick up the bigger bottle of protein to have on hand!

I did my first official tempo run today and it was hard, but I killed it. I ran 10 minutes at a 11:19 pace and then 15 minutes at a 10:06 pace. Mentally, I am working on the continuous running. It's hard, because often times, my brain wants to stop when my body wants to continue. I will continuously work on that.

I realized last week and even last night that I have no idea what portion control is, so I pulled out my best buds....the measuring spoons, measuring cups, and my biggest loser scale :). I measured everything for my dinner.

I had 4 oz. chicken
2 cups salad
2 tbsp mango vinagarette dressing
1 cup of broccoli with a sprinkle of cheese

Desert consisted of 1/2 cup peppermint ice cream and vita top chocolate

Today's eats:
Breakfast-1 Chobani Pineapple Yogurt w/ 1/4 cup granola & protein pouch
Lunch-11 oz. shrimp, 2 rings of pineapple, 2 tbsp teriyaki pineapple sauce. All over 1/2 cup jasmine rice. Salad on the side!

I am counting calories starting today. It's time to find new solutions for me, as I know I haven't done the best that I know I can!

Plans for Christmas Weekend...

I woke up this morning with a sore throat. Boo!! So, I am getting lots of fluids in and doing what I can to not get sick! Love has been sick since Saturday...Poor Guy. He passed it to me though.

Today, I want to talk a little about my eating and working out plans for the weekend!

I am not a dieter, I'm a lifestyle changer. So, this weekend will be all about portion control.

  • Love's dad always hosts Christmas Breakfast and it ROCKS! They have delicious food and I love breakfast food, like crazy love it!! Last year, it was meat, potatoes, eggs, and various other yumminess. I will watch my portion sizes for sure.
  • I am going to be bringing(hopefully) velvet chocolate chip cookies, but I have to find a velvet cake mix first. I got the recipe from another blogger, but don't remember who. So, sorry. I am excited to contribute though :)
  • Father Love(Love's Dad) always ALWAYS has yummy sodas! This year, I will refrain and drink juice/water!
  • I plan to do the "30 day shred" christmas eve, christmas day, saturday AND sunday. My gym is closed until the 28th :(
  • I work Saturday and Sunday. So, those days are easy to control portion sizes.
I have no idea what my dad has planned for Christmas. Maybe we will see him, but I haven't talked to him about it yet. As far as my mom goes, she is trying to plan something, but I work all weekend and don't have tons of time over this weekend.

With everything I am going through with my family and such, I just don't feel that into Christmas. I don't care about presents, christmas lights, or any festivities. I just want to spend the day with the love of my life, and our kids(Did you see the pics I posted of them on my side bar?)! Of course, I am excited to spend some time with his family as well. I really hope to see mine, but we will see.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!! Thank you for stopping by, it means so much to me!!
